A pipe-protection component manufacturer needed serial number labels that would stay firmly attached in any weather.

The component was injection moulded and the resulting gate vestige meant the surface was irregular. Standard circular labels lifted around the uneven central area, causing them to peel off. This made it difficult to trace the components, creating production errors and rework costs.

We developed a polypropylene BS5609, outdoor, marine-grade, tear-resistant label. A precision-cut central hole avoided the raised moulding vestige. We then adjusted the print software to allow curved-path serialisation around the hole, making sure it was clear and readable.
